    Posted: 02 Jun 2011 at 2:30pm
I'm getting ready to pick up a Model G that I put money down on about 3 months ago.  The original owner of the G has somehow acquired a Sickle Bar mower and has added this into the deal for a small additional sum.

I hadn't planned on this so transportation starts to get more interesting...

Anybody have some values for weight & floor space dimensions for a G Sickle Bar Mower?

I've also asked the gentleman for an estimate of these same values.

Scott

4' x 5'6"  about 2' of that 5' x 6" is a 2" x 2" square tube that hooks to the draw bar bail.
wild guess on weight 125 pounds.

Scott, Dusty is right on it, even not mounted it should fit under the arch and let the bar point back under the engine

Joe,

...and now the rest of the story.  The G already has a belly mower mounted on it.

There's actually 2 Sickle Bar Mowers - the owner stated that one of them would mostly be for parts.  I haven't seen them but:

1.  I was already traveling to get the tractor.

2.  The price was low enough that I was confident that it would be OK.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to arrange the mowers in the back of my pickup so that they would "dovetail" together.  The mowers are kind of L shaped so I'm wondering if there's room to do something like L7 with the mowers.  I've got an 8-foot bed on my truck.  I'm not sure that I can get the tractor/belly mower and one sickle bar to fit on the trailer.

Picture of tractor/belly mower & then picture of trailer follows.

Best regards,

Scott
