I have my Dads C here and the front end has a bad case of the wobbles. The worm gear in the steering box is part of it but the front end is really loose right at the pedestal. Is there an adjustment or am I going to have to replace parts? I may try and tear into it this weekend and would like to know what I am getting into. Thanks.

First check your wheel bearings and tire pressure. You can take off the pedistal and remove shims to tighten it up. You may have to take out the pedistal shaft and change bearings and races. the side steering shaft can be shimmed to incerase gear engagment. and the steering box could be one of two types. The ross boxes usually need new pins and the gemmers usually need the comb gear welded up and reshaped. Good luck.

Thanks Dave. I put on my list of things to do for the weekend. Hopefully the weather holds out.
