Anyone know of a source for plow points and cutting edges to rebuild worn plow shares?

Mine aren't worn yet but I too wondered if replacements could be had for the future.

I too was just about to check on this myself tonight.  Replacement edges would work for me.

First you have to know which plow bottom, then you can search for plow shares. Typically AC made anywhere from 3 to a dozen different shares for the same bottom, but the didn't work on other bottoms.

To identify the bottom you need to find a part number on the frog, moldboard, shin, or share. Then those with plow bottom books can identify the bottom and provide part numbers for shares that will fit.

As far as I know the only sources for the weld on edges and points for the older type shares is auctions and swap meets. We have cut edges from new throwaway type shares and welded them on and made up points from small excavator teeth. If you are looking for throwaway shares then you might be able to find them at the places Gerald suggested. We have in the past drilled new holes in frogs to accept a share that is available. The choices are narrow now, and get narrower every day it seems.

Ray, list the part numbers of those parts and we can identify the bottoms they fit.

There is a company out here that makes the hardened edges and points that you weld on...will try to find the info. Welding on hardened points for chisel plows is a big business out here in wheat country.

First three not in my 1968 book which includes the #375 bottom. Wiese says 347749 and 572184 fit a #387 bottom. Nobody on line admits 71509806 even without the 71 modern prefix.

308802 fits 16" right hand 325 and 25 with bolted draw rod breacket and welded frog. Interestingly those two bottoms use the same frogs.

308864 fits a 14" right hand #24 bottom with bolted draw rod bracket and welded frog. Also fits #24 and 124 bottoms with welded draw rod bracket and welded frog.

324890 fits 16" #24 bottoms with welded or bolted draw rod bracket and welded frog.
