Nope. Series 4 D-17 drawbar fits a series 4 only.  You need parts from any older D17 1957 thru 1963.

There are two drawbar "bails" for an older D-17. The original (like yours would have been) narrow bail and the newer (1960 and up ?) wider bail. Then, there is the drawbar itself, that is 3 feet plus long that connects to the snap-coupler bell and hangs from the bail, extending 14 inches beyond the end of the PTO shaft. There are also two mounting ears bolted under the lift arm housing for the bail to attach/hang from. What do you actually need ??   A salvage yard is your friend !!  Call 563-357-2615 Bill Deppe. Maybe he has what you need. Maybe someone can post a picture of a drawbar hanging on an older D-17 ??

I’m sorry for the sideways pictures, sometimes they appear correctly and sometimes they don’t. My 1959 D17

#1 is at the front.  I'd have to look at my distributor or book for order. 1,3,4,2 or 1,2,4,3. Distributor turns clockwise i think. Pop cap off and watch it while cranking. Is it not together and working?
