I've got a 214 Allis wheel disc that I picked up a few years ago. A few of the Bal-Pak bearings have seen better days. I've heard they're obsolete, what can I replace them with? Also, one gang of disc blades are smaller than the rest, how do they come apart so I can put the correct sized blades on?

I'll have to look around for them when I get into restoring my implements. Still have plenty of work to do on the tractors haha. There might be a shop in town that I could get new ones at.

The bearings are really an assembly and no longer available.
I wrote the knowledgebase article. Take a look at it. Sure you can pay $50-$100 for a used bearing, but I'd rather have  a new one.

To take a gang apart, First remove the hanger bracket bolts and drop the gang and brackets off the disk.
Next take the gang axle nut off the shaft then slide the pieces off one by one. Carefully lay them so you can put them back exactly how they were. The bearings and spacers are directional so you have to put them back on correctly.

And, like doing brakes on a car, if you only take one side apart, at a time, you always have a pattern to look at(the other side), should there be any questions on how to re-assemble...Wink
