I have a set of 3 bottom mounted spring trip plows.   One beam trips too easily.   Book says to put a washer in it.   I am afraid I will break something trying to get it apart.  Is there an easier way?????

I don't know of an easier way.  I'm  a "do it by the book" type of guy most of the time. At least if something should break there are lots of plows at my salvage yard where I can get parts. If the job gets done right the first time, that's one less monkey on my back is the way I look at it.  Wink

I also believe in doing it right or don’t waste your time.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Without digging into all my books, When I replaced everything in one of my plows I had the same trouble. Two books said differnt. One of the books said to just tighten up on the main pivot bolt a little bit causing some extra friction on the beam. It didn't take much
