I ordered a front roller for my mower but am not clear on how to mount it. The diagram in the book seems to hang it in mid air. Wisconsin air is too thin for this to work. Would anyone have a photo of how this thing mounts?

I just found a roller for my mower and was going to put it on this evening, but it got dark. If you look at the front top of your mower deck you will see two sets of square holes about 13" apart. I am using 3/8"x1 1/2" carriage bolts to mount it to the deck. The parts diagram I saw has the carriage bolts going through the roller brackets, then up through the deck. I am going to put mine through from the top of the deck, because when I take it off, I can just cut the nuts off from the bottom without damaging the paint on the deck. Plus I think it looks cleaner. Hope this helps!

I found a page that says there should be mounting instructions included in the roller bundle. It said some decks are not predrilled. http://farmallcub.com/rudi_cub/www.cleancomputes.com/Cub/OEM%20Implement%20and%20Attachment%20Manuals/Woods%20Mower%20Manuals/59-LB%20Rotary%20Mower/Page-04.jpgDo you use the roller with the wheels. Just curious.

Ken, sorry but I'm not up at the farm or I'd take a picture for you. Mine is an L306, but I'd bet they both mount up the same.
Do you have the angle iron brackets that come with the roller? You've gotta have them. If you get stuck, send me a PM or call me if you still have my cell phone #. Have a good one buddy! |

Thanks much for the responses! No, mine does not have the per-drilled holes. I'm assuming the roller brackets mount to the horizontal top of the mower deck versus the vertical. Without an angle iron bolted on the front then the brackets have to go inside the mower deck? This seems anti logical to me.
