Tach cable not turnin,1958 D17 gas,took the big nut off below the distributor,inside is a little hollow drive piece with a slot on one side,looks like a piece missing??Input please,TIA.

Get yourself an MSD 8491 tachometer adapter from any auto parts store. It'll fit into that hollow drive piece, and it has a pin that goes into the slot. Your square tach cable will slide into the square hole in the 8491 adaptor. I put one in my D17 a few weeks ago. About 20 bucks. The cable was cheaper.
