I am restoring a CA and was wondering what the correct color is for the rear rims and what brand does everyone use. Thanks

The original CA's came through with galvanized rear rims. The inside wheels were orange. Allis Chalmers was very "generous" with orange paint since most the the CA's came through with the starters and in some cases the generators painted too.
Show us some pictures as you progress. Good Luck! Bill Long

When it comes to the persistent argument of "what part was painted what color", Bill's word is good as Gospel, because he was THERE!! Thanks for all your knowledge, Bill! We all appreciate you!

He got it from Allis here in La Crosse and used it to paint EVERYTHING.... He'd mix it with any other paint he could get a hold of to change the color. IF I'd ONLY KNOWN!!..![]() |
