For D17 Series IV gas, to what point does the #7 compensating spring attach? It hooks around the neck of the stud bolt but what about the other end? Thanks

On my D-17 ser.3,it hooks on a bracket with a hole in it. I tried to order a new spring for mine last year and was told it was not available from AGCO. Then they said there was a New Holland spring that was identical. So I ordered it fron NH dealer, but it was not the correct spring. I did use it ,but had to use a "s" hook to make it reach. I used the tractor for 2 years with spring broke and I don't see much difference with it on or off. I do think the throttle responds a little quicker with it on.
