Darrell - might want to check the Worthington salvage yard in MN.  If you go to a Series III or IV rear you need to upgrade to the new style band-acutated disc brakes. 

There were FIVE different housing used across the four series with SN breaks at 1) before 240001 2)24001 to 38898 3)38899 to 42000 4) 42001 to 75000 5) 75001 & up. If you use one of the later housings to replace a tractor before SN 38899 there is a list of transmission input shaft and related parts that must be updated as the newer housings after SN38899 & up were updated to a double row ball bearing on the front bore.  Mike

We have a couple of rearends here in various states and I thing the last one we pulled the engine out of was a series 2 if you get me our serial number I'll see how close I can get to yours Niel

Ive got one Darrell, housing has diff and trans gears in it, I dont know the s/n for sure but it has a 3 bar grille.   You can have it for haulin the lawn tractor back from Indiana if thats ok.  I wont be able to bring it until some snow melts so I can get the pickup out, or you can come and get it.   Lemme know!!!
