I have a chance to add a D15 to the stable with my CA.

Not sure the details yet. Don't even know the year, but he says it runs good and everything works.

Any idea what this would be worth?

He also has a Farmall M and an A that both look good.

$2000 to $4500 around here depending on condition. Fair market value is determined by what a knowledgeable buyer will pay and what a willing seller will accept. If you had to buy an aftermarket 3 point hitch you are looking at around $400. Tires look good, decals are not correct unless they were changed sometime in production. A D15 is a very nice and handy tractor. Just depends on how bad you want it and how bad he wants to sell it.
Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God.

The series II D15 is one great little tractor. Both of my Grandfathers had one and Dad always kept one around for chores. I did lots of custom corn picking with a two row mounted New Idea picker on a 15 as well. That tractor has factory three point (which was not a heavy built unit) but still adds value to the tractor. If everything works and she is not a gear jumper $2-3500 is a fair price. I bought my series II snap coupler tractor for $1500 with a set of sectional weights on the back for $1500 but it jumps out of second gear. Tom

Shawn,

We love our D-15 Series II. We have had it for about 28 years.

The one you show looks pretty nice, like it's been repainted (shows that they at least care) and it even looks like it has the original seat. Tires look decent. Rear-facing lights are of course aftermarket but handy if they work. If you have clearance when pulling in the barn the elbow on top of the exhaust pipe is a good idea.

Ours occasionally jumps out of 3rd gear when pulling a load downhill but you just plan for it and keep your foot near the brakes for safety and it's part of the package. Yours may not have that issue.

Our front tie rod ends don't have grease zerk fittings so we've had to replace one over the years. You might check this unit for looseness there before you figure out an offer.

These are great utility tractors, "modern" in most senses of the word and lots of power for the hobby farmer. They used to run from $3500-4500 up until a few years ago, but we now see them for more in the $2000-3500 range. Parts are expensive, but available. That said, what tractor parts these days are cheap (of any color)?

Hope you get it for a good price. Let us know!

Tom

160 c.i. engine rebuild parts seem to run 25-45% more than 149's (pistons/sleeves) but the D15II is kind of like the CA as it can do more work than you would think.
That unit appears to be a later model with the 6-bolt front hubs, unless someone added them over the years. 3-point is not much more than what the D12 had but if bolts/nuts on bottom mounting hardware have been kept checked, and 3-point not overly abused, handy little tractor that can still be converted back to a SC drawbar use if you want to.
Looks like that one has the optional 3-hole top link mounting bracket where most seem to have come with a single mounting hole. I have a number of them and just like the feel of them as you can really "throw them around" while using smaller implements, plus easy to trailer at approximately #4300 without fluid/weights.
Many seals that can leak on gals that age, especially when switched over to A-C821 recommended fluid as thinner fluid than original (except PS fluid in front bolster); if it runs, good to do the required downgrade throttle up/down quickly in each gear to see if gear collars are excessively worn and make it jump out of gear(s).
Once warm, good to park it on a cement pad if possible and leave it running to check for leaks as some will require some work to change seals typical of most tractors that age.
Bottom seems to be around 2K but I have seen some nice originals, w/ decent rims/rubber bring 4K+.
Fun tractor to have for sure.

DSpears N IL....I want your garage and what's in it!!! I hope my CA looks that good when I get it done! Very nice.

Thank you everyone. Lots of good advice here. I'll have to see. I expressed interest to him about the D15 but he told me he wants to sell them all as a package and I don't really want them all. I barely have time right now to finish my CA.

He's got the Farmall A and M and a Massey Harris 30 that looks rough but has new tires. He said that one runs but it runs rough.

I really like the looks of the D series though with that grill.

I'll let you know if anything works out.

Shawn.

Yes, I noticed that Ford. It looks pretty cool. Not sure what the chassis is.

This guy reclaims old farm land that has been unused. He has a big mulcher and some excavators and dozer.

Looks like our 1968 series II. Darn good tractor it will surprise you with the amount of power it has. May have been advertised as 46hp but it sure seams like it has more than that. Dad bought it new and has been extremely reliable. Make sure you come to a stop if you go between gears or it will become a gear jumper. Thankfully dad taught us not to do that.
