Hello, I'm looking for an engine ,running or not ,if diesel ,then i need complete or if gas ,partial engine?? thank you

I needed a gas one a few years ago, found Series II are a little hard to find and pricey when you do.

What happens to them that you need to find a whole new engine? They are quite rare up here. I'm can't remember a one at the Gathering of the Orange at Madison SD this past summer. I know there are a lot of guys trying to find this engine to bolt in their CA pulling tractors. Since they didn't make very many of engines they are going to be expensive. What's to stop a guy from obtaining the more common D14 and early D15 G149 engine and installing the larger bore G160 piston and sleeve kit? I know the crankshaft is the same. You could use the governor spring and intake and carb off of your old engine. |

Well the engine is in a I 600 and its pretty well shot,but if the smaller engine would fit ,i would be for that also,i don't care really about power ,i am sure the smaller engine would have enough power to dig .i have a skidloader to do all the pushing.so it will only be used for digging with the back end,how would i know if it would fit?? thank you

The G-160 block is bored bigger to accept the larger diameter sleeves.

The 160 CID block is grooved for the sleeve O-rings, while the 125, 138 and 149 engines have the O-ring grooves on the sleeves. Connecting rods are different too...

149 engine has the grooves in the block also. Sleeve is too thin. Bob

Series II motor is also 2" or there abouts, wider than the earlier motor. (at the frame rails)

Both D-15 (series 1 and series 2) are wider (about 2 inches) at the timing cover mounting plate. D10-12-14's are narrower.

well my deck is cracked and the sleeves and pistons are shot ,one rod bent too much to straighten,just plain abused and worn out......
