I have enjoyed antique tractors for many years, just acquired my first ac (wc speed patrol) with a (wd engine 1948) and I will have many questions along the way. for this time my problem is -- air cleaner to carb outlet is 1 7/8 the carb tsx804 has 1 1/2 neck to air cleaner. is the carb wrong or what?

A TSX804 doesn't sound like it was used on a Allis. I'm not at the shop to varify that, but it doesn't sound like somethin' used on an AC machine. It definately wasn't on a Speed Patrol. Most early WD engines were equipped with the 9707, 9707B, 9707C  Zenith carbs which also showed up on the WC/WF 201 engines. On occasions they came with a TSX305 or 471 small bore Marvels. When I get into the shop late this afternoon, I'll do a little research for ya...
