NO. Use oil resistant RTV lightly rubbed onto the paper gasket.

You can use about anything and it will be fine. Remember, it came with an 80/90 gear oil, so if you go to a lighter viscosity, there may be more leaks. Takes 4 to 4 1/2 gallons total into the two fill plugs on the left side.

Ok so 80/90 is best.
What if I go heavier. Also how many drain plugs are there I only did the hydraulic one and the one under the pto |

If you did the hydraulic sump, that is another 6 quarts of hydraulic oil. Take out EVERY drain plug, which I think is FOUR.

I'll try to get 80/90 but I might just get trans hydraulic fluid

Only has to seal around the outside. I don't see what's different but it's too close for me to figure out. Pull the drain plugs and let it empty out. I think there's 2 under the trans/rear end. You can try to rinse it with diesel fuel. Put fresh trans-hydraulic fluid in all compartments and forget "stop leak". Everything except the engine can use one (same) fluid.

The new gasket doesn't have the bottom hole.
So I can use the oil I showed |

You need to align everything so it slips back together. You may have to put the PTO in gear and turn it to get the shafts aligned.
DO NOT PULL IT BACK TOGETHER WITH BOLTS!

There are precious few 17 year olds nowadays that would tackle a task like this. Keep up the good work!
