we love the air cooker for a lot of things, but shrimp sure isn't one of them. the dogs smelled the shrimp and walked off.

No worries here, both of us don't like shrimp. I got's 1 of them for the motor home last winter. Gonna head for the Okabojie flea market this coming holiday weekend. Gonna try it out then. Anybody have a recipe for rattle snake steaks? Grand son and I are Gonna hunt some this summer.

How are you hunting them Tom? With a wire choker? Anyway,,,,,
Using a sharp boning or Fileting knife, remove the meat from the snake by cutting down the back, just slightly to one side of the spine from the head to the rattle. Using the tip of the knife peel the meat from the 'rib cage'. Once you remove the 2 long strips of meat, lightly pound them with the back of the knife to tenderize and flatten them. Cut the strips of meat into 1-inch pieces and place in a bowl of buttermilk. In a large bowl combine 1 cup of cornmeal with 1 cup of flour and salt and pepper to taste, 1 TBLS each of chili powder, garlic powder and Paprika and 1 tsp each of cayenne and ground cumin. Heat about 2 cups of oil in a large skillet on medium high heat. Take the snake pieces (WELL soaked in the Buttermilk) and Dredge them in the cornmeal/flour mixture and fry for 2 minutes or until golden brown and then transfer to a paper towel lined plate. On a grill, just soak in the buttermilk and then place on a grill. Takes about 6 / 7 minutes to get them done, turning constantly. Just plain or add any of your famous BBQ sauce and I've always wanted to try honey on em. ENJOY!! |
