Can anyone give me some help in checking the hydraulic pressure and operation of an AC monoframe plow? I picked one up last week and have only dealt with the manual reset plows in the past. I would like to confirm that it is operational before i dig up some rocks.

You need to open the valuve and see how much pressure is on the hyd. side of the system. Should be between 1000 and 2000 psi. The pressure can be adjusted with the hyd. on your tractor.

I think that pressure is a little high, my book talks about 850 up to only about 1200, would have to look for sure, if you want let me know and I will dig the book out and look for sure.

when I used to start a new plow in the field for a customer, I started at 1000psi and increased until the plow didn't reset when plowing and not hitting rocks or items. That you didn't have it set to firm and break something.

Jim I ploweed with 2000's and in most of my soil I set hyd pressure to 750. I do remember some hard ground years when I needed more, like 1000 lbs. I also remember the time I had too much psi, the front bottom didn't release and I peeled half the front frame apart. That repair took lots of oxyacet and 2 big gussetts!
