Hey guys,
Starting to put this engine back together and I noticed an issue with the main bearing insert (block side) nearest the timing gear.
The oil hole in the block is about 1/3 of a hole off as it relates to the bearing insert's oil hole. The bearings are Clevites.
Has anyone else seen this before? Is this an issue? Should I peewee grind the bearings oil hole so that they match up better?
Thanks in advance for the help,
Terry

I think the front main on my 226 was similar. Not exactly lined up.You could elongate it but I'd bet it will allow more oil through than it ever needs right now.

Yes, I had the same issue on my 262. I did take a die grinder to open up the hole on the bearing slightly so there would be no risk of starving the main and rod.
