My XT will operate fine in 1st 3erd 5th and 7th gears, it seems to only have one reverse gear with the PD in high low or neutral (it make no deference where the PD lever is tractor moves the same). While having someone sitting in the seat and moving the lever it looks like everything on the side/belly of the tractor moves its full stroke smoothly. I have taken apart the hyd splitter valve on the back of the pump before (would only steer if I activated a remote lever) that turned out to be a flake of metal blocking a oil passage. Any ideas or spots to check would be great, thanks

I would suspect you need a hydraulic pump rebuild.

PD only needs 280-300 to work.
Don't under stand question, does it stop in neutral and hi or does it pull the same speed in lo, neutral, and hi?      MACK
