only way I noticed was I had both my tractors side by side and checked the serials and one is a XTD and the other is a DXT

Must have been dependent on however the guy doing the stamping felt it should be. Unless there were some straight 190's converted to XT's before they left the factory. Turbo and oil cooler would be the only major changes needed as far as I know.

Unless the XT had a separate serial sequence than a straight 190 so then I'd go back to the thought that it was at the discretion of whoever was doing the stamping.

In this instance, it would have got a completely different engine. There's so many little things different between a 2800 and a 2900. I cannot see the factory ever swapping engine parts, but they may have swapped a complete engine, since they were a separate component from Harvey. Just my opinion though.

the kicker is they both have d2900s only thing differnt was the turbos between the two tractors one had the solar type other had a to4

I can see someone picking up the D stamp first, striking it, realized his mistake, and said well its a diesel, and its a XT. DXT
