185 rear wheel weights

If you look in the knowledge based section there is a list. Am4483-1 is the correct weight. Takes 4 per wheel

Not sure in this case? but sometimes it makes a difference if early or late. This is our early 185 on 18.4-28 and what I believe are prim and proper front and rear weights.

I don't think you can put enough steal weights to break things. The pie weights are 150 per wheel. This is nothing compared to what you get when you load the tires.

Or put another way like having your two teenage boys one on each fender as you drive out to the hay field...

180-185 pie weights are 75 lbs each or 300 pounds per wheel.

Going from Memory, there is a maximum weight the manual says to put on a 185 by 28", 30", and 38" tire size. My Memory says it was something like 9100, with 30" and 9400 with 28". 38" was a lot less, something like 8000. There's sticker on mine for max weight with 30" tires.
I figured up my 185 weight with loaded 18.4-28 tires and front weight rack to be right a little under the weight limit. You'd have to really try to get overweight with the 28" tires like load them with fluid and stack on a bunch of weights.

My 185 has a decal showing max weight, guess they were serious about it!

Butch I believe you are correct. The on-line Agco parts book shows that 185's prior to S/N 12800 used 4ea pie weights per wheel and a 185 S/N 12800 and up used the one piece doughnut.

Are your 28" rims power adjust / spin outs???  Do the one piece / doughnut weights interfere or ride on the power adjust mechanism on the rims??

In the knowledge base section the picture of the pie / sectional rear weights for a 185, casting # AM4483-1 appears to have came from a 28" wheel. Will these particular weights fit other size wheels or do they only fit a 28" ???

They will fit (cause there is a bolt hole there), but do not conform to the wheel profile and look goofy....same with the 38" centers.

Will fit on 38" centers, but cover up the wheel lugs....

Other than man-handling them on and off is there any advantage / disadvantage of the single doughnut versus the 4 pie weights?? From what I can glean off the previous posts the max weight you could achieve with the pie weights is 300# per wheel where as with the single doughnuts you could keep stacking them till you ran out of bolt length. Looks like Eldon has 3 doughnuts stacked together. At 140#-150# each that's approx. 435# per wheel.
