I think I saw you coming out of a gas station with the tractor on a trailer on Hickman Road by I35 today. I was on to Waukee to see my daughter! It looked good on the trailer.

That'll work great for you! if you can fabricate, whip up a 3-point kit and a pair of forks, and you can use it to pick up and move things around very easily.

Thank you for all your help  guys I put in  new plugs changed the oil.
It runs great but it does smoke from number 2 I will fix it later.
It seems to have plenty of power and everything works OK.
Hopefully It just needs a sleeve or some rings.
For now I'm just going to use it as is I don't have a lot to use it for anyway.

Or perhaps just a stuck ring, which isn't unusual if they've been sitting for a while... one valve open, condensation makes the bore a little gunky, and it gets rammed in around the ring. Work it hardand you may find that will unstick it.

Nice looking tractor for that price!!
Yes, work it HARD and if it's a stuck ring, that should pop it loose.  If not, it's no big deal, you can use it that way.  Just have to keep an eye on the oil EVERY morning.
It's upgraded to an alternator already for you!  You'll love it!!  Know where to find the serial number?

Ok guys I found out the problem the valve guides on the intake valve's are badly worn.
It look's like some one replaced the exhaust seats.
I made a tool and pushed out the guides without any problems now I just have to find some new one's.

We are all always trying to save money when doing any work on these old tractors, but I would urge you to buy a good quality rebuild kit, with as many American parts as possible. There are several vendors that advertise (and sponsor) this site that have decent prices, good quality parts and a wealth of knowledge to guide you when you buy.

I, personally, would stick with the Power Crater pistons. The flat tops are ok if you're using it strictly for tractor pulling, but the original equipment stuff is better for everyday use.

7.25/1 compression ratio pistons are available in 4.125" bore at very reasonable cost. 8.25/1 pistons (high octane/LP) are available in 4" bore, but they are very costly.

Well guys I got bad news the engine need's a complete rebuild.Ouch
I took the bottom apart today the crank is messed up on #4 and the rod is screwed too.
I think the crank can be saved but I will need a rod.
I know a rebuild is the best thing I just have to figure out how to pay for it.
The kit I found is $695 is that a good price?

Rod and bearing, perhaps. How's the piston fitment, and the sleeve bores?

What is your ultimate intent for this tractor's use?

Reason I ask- I've built up engines from a variety of donors, using combinations that were used, but still very serviceable for basic use.

If you're not planning on making it a high-performance competetor, not dealing with incredible wear, catastrophic damage, or physical trauma, you may have a substantial lineup of parts that really don't need replacing. If the pistons and sleeves are fairly well fitting, and sleeves aren't severely tapered or out-of-round, a set of properly gapped modern rings, one rod, a set of bearings, an oil pump and some emery paper on the crank might set the bottom end up for another 60 years, and leave the budget available to give the cylinder head a rehab...

I just want it use it around the yard no pulling or heavy use.
I tried to fix my c like that but it didn't work out I had to do a complete rebuild.
The head is ok I got the new guides and am going to get new valves.
I'll pull the crank and see from there.
