I am trying to set the traction booster on the CA I just bought. The big spring was slack, so I got that set. I cannot get the locknuts loose on that shaft that runs back to the pump on the upside of the hitch bracket. If I could get it off, I could get it on a vice. I thought if I took the screw out at the end, I could just pull the whole thing out. The shop manual only shows a spring on the shaft down side of the bracket, but it does not want to budge when I try to pull the whole thing out. It turns in the bracket so it isn't rusted in or anything. The shop manual I have is a little short on detail, I think.
