Ace Hardware Rust Stop in Allis-Chalmers Orange is a match for Persian Orange #2.   You used to be able to buy it in rattle cans, quarts and gallons.  I know it's still available in rattle cans as I was in an Ace store a couple weeks ago.  Didn't look for quarts & gallons.  I've tried the rattle cans and it matches #2.  Mike

The paint I bought is Krylon Special Purpose Farm & Implement 1820 Allis Chalmers Orange. I haven't painted with it yet, so can't verify the color match. I purchased it from O'Reilly Auto Parts store. They didn't have it in their store, but ordered it from their warehouse and it arrived at the local store in 2 days. This is supposed to be Persion Orange 1. See the attached picture of the can.

Hey Mike, that's funny. I just got back from O'Reilly auto parts, ordered 4 cans. They had plenty of JD green and yellow in stock. Ron

Ron, I normally paint my Allis stuff w/ PPG OMNI MAE 60080 Acrylic Enamel Persion Orange #1 w/Hardener over Omni epoxy primer but wanted to try the Krylon for touch-up and small parts. We'll see how it works out. Other folks have said that Krylon 1820 is a good match for PO 1.

When I had my D17 Series IV painted, I bought 2 gallons of Omni MAE in PO #2 (60396) and had them fill I think 4 rattle cans out of one of the gallons.  I think they only put 3 oz of actual paint in each rattle can.   No hardener in the can of course.  Mike

I am with Butch on this one. The main point of this picture is not show the different official shades, but rather how three different paints made by the same company do not match themselves. When I called someone at the Valspar tech line to ask them what shade of AC orange is your regular paint and the restoration series I get a long pause on the other end followed by "it is formulated to match probably the most recent shade AC used before they went out of business.  This in theory would be corporate and explain why it does not match AGCO #2 but they don't say that for sure.  Assuming it is corporate orange I then ask why the normal paint does not at least match the restoration series and I get no explanation. I then ask since they make paint for AGCO why their retail store paint does not match anything from AGCO, again no answer. Truthfully I do not have AGCO #1 and corporate paint to test, but when holding the retail samples up to unfaded original paint on machinery they do not match.  Also like Butch said, I have looked at something recently stored in a box out of the sun that was painted 4-6 years ago with the "regular" paint and it is not even close to the currently available paint shown in the right side of the picture. Oh well. Mike
