 Topic: Got bad news about my mother in law

She was diagnosed with bone and lung cancer and she's been having trouble concentrating and has been confused. She got a brain scan today and the cancer has moved to her brain. Not sure what the next step is yet. Just waiting

Thanks buddy. Haven't told the girls yet. Really dreading that one. Danielle is holding up in front of her mama but is in pieces otherwise. They're about as tight as they can be. I don't think her daddy understands what is going on. He thought the Dr said she had a stroke. I guess the only good side is I don't think Linda really understands any of it

Thanks Hubert and everybody else. The oncologist came in and said they're going to give her some antibiotics and steroids and that should help with the confusion. Everything is stage 4. They're going to keep her tonight and will do an MRI tomorrow then see what's the best way to go.

Earlier today my father in law called Danielle and said she was more like herself but as the steroids started to wear off she started getting the confusion back. She told Danielle and Thomas both to go home because she didn't want them to stay tonight. She'd rather they slept in their beds. They put her on seizure medication. I'm assuming for prevention due to the swelling. I think they're recommending she see a neurologist. Probably have to be moved to a different hospital. I think the closest one is on Cartersville and that's about 20 miles southwest of here. I guess we'll see what tonight and tomorrow hold

Update* Linda got moved to a hospital in Atlanta on Sunday. She's had 2 more MRIs since then. There's no cancer in her spine and, according to the neurologist, she shouldn't be able to walk around and speak with where the cancer is in her brain but she's up walking and talking almost as good as ever. They're going to try radiation was the last I heard. She wants to come home but don't know when that'll happen. The room at the hospital in Atlanta is much more comfortable then in Jasper so my father in law has been staying with her so it's been pretty quiet around here (they're our neighbors). Continued prayers are much appreciated. Doctors say they don't really understand why she's able to get around as well as she is. We believe they need to go to church and would probably learn a lot more than they learned in med school

Here's a shocker for me, she's coming home today! I guess they figure they can treat her at the oncologists office here in town and not keep her at the hospital. Praise be to God!!
