All the rust was air hammered and knocked off and being painted.
The shifter Tower is being rebuilt with some new pins and bushings they had a pretty high quality set up from the factory even some needle roller bearings and seals on shafts and Bell cranks very high tech, I've replaced with new oil impregnated bronze bushings and adding grease zerks

Update I had the lines repaired and I installed them. You can see the welds where new elbows were installed.

Does anybody have ideas how to keep mice out of those perfect areas for nesting?.. I was thinking about filling in the areas with that insulation in a can that expands or slopping lots of nasty grease in there

Segments look pretty solid, rails look pretty well used up as well the shoes on them. Be wary when turning if much slack in them as the old snaky rails like to roll off.

I saw some spray on foam at the local hardware store.  It had Jalipeno flavor it it which is supposed to repel mice and insects, unless, of course they are from Mexico...

Nice find. Birds nested in my cat 943 one time. snakes were on it after the bird eggs. Used it on a job and they were sticking their head out all over trying to get out. some got out through hole in belly pan while running it.

Update.. well I'm making some progress, unfortunately my engine oil pressure is low probably due to previous owner running it with fuel diluted engine oil, due to leaky injection pump seals., and I have a smoky cylinder and slight burnt valve.
But upon testing out the transmission, I noticed that my low gear is not all that low after all, too fast and even though I can get a full bucket of compacted millings digging in, it really does not want to easily spin the tracks..
Do I have a weak trans?, is my question
