KY Hwy 4 - New Circle Road Lexington - Fayette County - Kentucky Sunday_29-December-2024 R.J.Corman RxR Overpass Crossing of New Circle Road at Palumbo Drive - South East Quadrant 38° 1'32.98" North Parallel - 84°27'12.77" West Meridian 1,025' Above Sea Level Left = West to R.J.Corman Buchanon Street Yard or East to CSX Interchange at Winchester via a "Y" Right = East to industrial spurs and a dead end New Circle Road encompasses Lexington; we are travelling in the contrary clocker-wise direction; Inner Lexington is on our Left; Outer Lexington is on our Right. R.J.Corman RxR Overpass Crossing of New Circle Road at US68 - North East Quadrant 38° 4'0.93" North Parallel - 84°28'19.18" West Meridian 956' Above Sea Level Left = South(West) to R.J.Corman Buchanon Street Yard Right = North(East) to CSX Interchange at Winchester This line used to parallel US68/US27 all the way to Paris; the Paris route no longer exists. Both these bridges are Deck Plate Girder Bridges; "Deck" meaning the road-bed is on a deck above the Plate Girders; were they "Thru Plate Girder Bridges", the Plate Girders would be inverted and the track(s) would pass between the Plates, the Plates sort of serving as sides to the bridge. Photos taken through the glass of a moving vehicle in the rain.
