Morning!
I was wondering if anyone had good pictures of a 7030/7050 open station tractor. I got fenders from one in Ca. this spring and will be making one since I picked up this 7030 Black face. I am hoping someone has some good ones in a archives somewhere. I thought I did but cant find them.
Thanks in advanced Darryl

Darryl - I found I had a few 7050 open station photos from a dealership in Albers, IL that I took in 2008. I just uploaded them now to Photobucket. Let me know if these are of any use. Mike

You don't see the 7000 series without cabs very often. They actually don't look too bad that way.

Son of a gun, those ol' girls look nice topless! They were a futuristic looking design for 1973, weren't they? They still look right in style yet today-I think so, anyway.
Did the hydraulic valvestack get relocated with an open station? Something looks different there to me. I know this wasn't my project, but I sure enjoyed seeing the pix. Thanks.

Mike --- without reading your post I thought the landscape looked familar with the Agco out front and Casey's across the street. Get up that way once in awhile too.

They look like they use the sqare fenders from a 100 series tractor? Or did they use a different fender?

Scott - on that trip I was either on my way over or my way back to Bernie Bruns (aka Dairyfarmer) in Germantown to look at a chisel plow that I eventually bought from him. If there is anything interesting I stop and look. I drive that way every year in August too on my way to Balloonfest in Centralia, IL. Mike

Darryl, I think you will need more than just fenders to do the conversion, unless you are planning to cut up the cab. The operator platform is an isolated assembly and the floor is part of the cab.
I like the looks of them that way too, but if all the time I've spent with a 7040 was outside I'd be using sign language by now!

There are pics of my 7080 that I made an open station on here somewhere. I cant find them, even if I could i dont know how to post the link. Maybe someone can help. I was able to find them. If you go to advanced search type countryguy828 in the member name and "sweet 7080" in key words, then change it to list all posts from the last year it should come up.

I've owned 3 7060s and a 7080 all with cabs, and I have to say I like the looks of that 7050 open station better.

OOOOOOHHHHH That's purty. The straight pipe, the duals, the weights with the painted logo, mercy that is nice.

I just bought a set of fenders from a dealer that came off a 7030 in 1974. I'm going to do the same thing as Darryl and try to turn a 7030 into an open station. The fenders I have don't look quite like the one's on the 7080 pic. I also looked at a 7030 open station about two weeks ago and those fenders didn't look like the 7080 pic either.

the 7080 just had the cab cut off, leaving the cab's fenders. Looks nice, but I have to admit the true open station fenders look really cool on a 7000 series! The fenders are different than the hundred series too. Very hard to come by!

Ed your right the bottom half of the cab is still there. I did extend the fenders to about 18" for a better look.

Here are some pictures of our 7030 we pulled years ago.

I believe that all the 7030 / 7050's were maroon chassis.

Is your tractor more of a brown than Allis Chalmers used? I like it! What years were you pulling? |

Thanks,
I had the paint color matched from a piece that was under the dash.
It maybe darker, but it was not as dark as the picutures show.
We pulled it like 1996-99 or so, maybe Gary remembers and will say.

The engine had a Simms pump on it, had 10mm plungers with out retard notches. It got pretty hot on the dyno with them at full fuel.
Ran a 3lm, it ran good, but ya know hind sight.
