 Topic: bulldozers and back pain

Anybody got an air ride seat on their dozer? If so, does it help? If yes, what brand? Haven't been on mine in 6 months. Last time I got off of it, I swore I would sell it before I would get on it again, but as usual, I've got some work to do that the helper can't handle. Any help or suggestions?

I was always told; if its hard on the man, then its bloody hard on the machine ! Try doing it abit more gently.

I remember about 1980 that the Construction part of Allis was testing air ride and other suspension seats in the large 41B dozer for coal mines.... I though it was odd at the time... BUT I WAS 30 YEARS OLD....... Seats went over real BIG with the 50- 60 year old guys........ FIAT was a big influence at that time, and many of the tested seats were from Europe ......... don't know what difference that would make to you.. A good seat from a heavy truck would work OK.

Slow Down - watch the terrain - take the bumps and lumps slowly - look ahead of what is going on . Running loader and dozers didn't bother me as far as back - the HD4 got my feet confused as far as brakes and decelerator being brakes were together unlike HD5 with space between. Then only spent limited hours per day on machines - trading off with shovel - transit - or truck.

Not sure about dozers yet mine still in repair mode . But riding mowers I have noticed after riding my rough and tumble Craftsman My back feels fantastic after a long 4 or 5 hour ride when a total wreck before the run .But not so after riding my smoothe cub cadet . It is too easy on bumps and adds no exercise. My dozer AC mod M has a fairly square shaped seat . if it is rough I may try buying some 4 inch thick memory foam and build a seat . if it works out then have it upholstered.

Suspension does help. I found that a little softer ride helps my neck muscles, less headaches. Our HD11 has an old truck seat- it works ok. Dad used to have a lot of back pain- he always strapped on one of those back support deals plus added extra cushions for lumbar support when he got on the cat. When the pain got too bad he let me operate, it was great for me as a kid anxious to learn.

Easily said until you actually have a bad back then you can't be gentle enough. I spent $1,200 or was it $1,300 on an air ride seat for my tractor as I was desperate for relief.

I bought a suspension type seat and put on my HD5 and on the FD5 - some spring give in suspension and adjustable for weight but not a air ride seat . On the HD5 I used a bucket seat from a Chev Pickup for years - the high back worked well when dozing but for loader it is all short work and hand busy so not much setting back and riding ..

This is Thomas dad . you have a dozer blade use it ! smooth off A spot . if it's a rough ride it's the operator! use the blade to make you a smooth spot. started at this spot and work your way out . Either you can work the machine or the machine will work you.

My old 7G has almost 7 inches of serious foam padding in the base and four in the backrest, layered of dense to soft so does not kick the hell out of me in use unless I get rambunctious.

Still using them suspension seats on 2 machines - now bought a New Holland 655 Turbo skid steer and after running the BobCat S300 my learning curve has to come back , from crab steer joy stick to hand levers and foot control boom and bucket - and NO suspension at all in either

Run several Cat 963 series machines and a few Deere rubber tire articulated now a days, two have bolted in seating and are brutal, three are suspension seats where still after a day with my aged busted up back am sore as all get out. AGE is our culprit not so much machines, youth get bounced around and pass it off as nothing just as we used to.
Young Persons game and we are still trying to play!!

I tried all the possible remedies found on the internet. Massage chair, pillowless sleeping, specialized toys for the back, and after I went to the doctor. He told me that he could do some procedures for me, but it is best to do a few 대전 출장 안마 sessions. Thought a lot until I decided because I couldn't believe that massage could treat some problems I had accumulated for years! But I want to tell: u it's a miracle! Now I can't imagine how I lived with those pains. My back has returned to normal, and I can even work day and night. I supported 100%.
