You'll have to look at the top back of the blade, for hydraulic hoses going into it. Your grader, from what I see don't have it. The yellow grader picture seems to have it. If you have it, you will see a real long hydraulic cyl, parallel to the blade, at the top...

I used 90 weight in the chain boxes and transaxle. You have one oddball tire on the back. Since all four wheels are locked together you will have some tire scrubbing if all four tires are not identical. The three matching tires look fairly new so a new matching tire should work.

The tires are going to be remedied after I do all the fluids! My neighbor just bought his property next to me, and he'll need a road cut... He owns a tire shop! 😜😜😜 What would running regular 30 weight oil work like in these chain boxes? I would think you'd want something light enough to travel with the chain as it goes around? I have found a fill home at the top, and a drain hole at the bottom, but haven't found a level check hole anywhere? Suggestions? Anyone know where to get the wheel seals at? |

No, lower, very top of the blade, about 10" from the ground... Yours is a '58, by the numbers. Not a DD, cause its stamped a D. DD's had every option there was, at the time of production...

Hi. Look at the post above yours, 'M100 grader film'. At the 4.00 min. mark, it will show you the side sliding blade in action. Ross

I ran the oil level in the chain boxes about halfway between top and bottom of chain. Just make sure bottom is always runnin in oil.

I would stick with 90 weight. There are reproduction manuals and service books available from suppliers on this site. I no longer have my grader or any of the literature that I had accumulated but I thought there was a plug on the side of the chain box that was used to check the full level, My grader was a 59 model with a serial number starting at 54XX something so I would say your's might be a 58. |

Found my operators manual, today. Says 50 weight for the tranny, rear, and gearboxes. 90 weight EP, in the steering worm, and 10 weight, in the Hydraulic system. Also says if operating in cold weather, hyd can be thinned with kerosene...
Keep in mind that these are old oil ratings, and the newer oils are not rated the same, so some common sense comes into play...

That would be handy as heck! I wish this was a DD! But it'll have to do for now! Biggest thing I wish it had was the ripper attachment! I found a "parts machine that has one, but he's asking too much! I wonder if I could transfer the ripper off that machine onto mine?

He doesn't want to "part it out", even though it's not even a roller? Fromtvend is off, -'d the engine is pulled and rusted! He wants $2500.00 and I'd have to bring a fork lift to get it on a trailer???? I'll call him back in a few weeks and offer him something different! |
