Must I remove the radiator to access the pump discharge tube connection at the lower left?

Unless I am missing something, NO. I can get to that fitting, and did on mine this past winter, when rebuilding my front end.

There is a tin "pan" that covers the bottom and I couldn't see what holds it up. Thought maybe it was welded in there.

Hey Charlie is this D17 a wide-front or n-front tractor? The n-front's have a mud shield below the front end.

Charlie the pan is heald on with four bolts, you can get to them from the bottom side' and there's a plug on the right side too. If the mind is working right. lol
