Here my problem. Renting a house from my grandma and going to use the 7030 the clean her's and mine driveway this winter of snow. Heres the problem the tractor been sitting for almost a year. I got in it a couple of weeks ago and it turned over and cracked just fine. It need fuel and a little coolent. Put 10 gals. of fuel in it and toped off the coolent. Got the battey charged up and went to start it, nothing. Key is on, knob pulled out and push clutch in. Any ideas where I should look at first. Thanks for any help or ideas. Thanks.

Hit it with a hammer.
If that doesn't fix it it's an electrical problem. |

One thing could be the clutch pedal switch. When you push the clutch in to start our 7030 you almost have to stomp on it to get the switch to work to let the motor crank. Next time you go to start it press down hard on the clutch pedal and then try to start it.

Could be connections or any of the other safety switches mentioned. You could double check the easy things by jumping the solenoid directly (after making sure the tractor is out of gear, etc), and then you will know if the major things (battery, connection, starter, etc) are good and then start looking for safety switches. Been through that on my 7045 and 7060.

My guess is clutch switch, have a guy in the tractor with the clutch in, and in neutral, then jump the starter, to see if the battery connections are good, and the starter is working. If nothing at that point, I would suggest the battery connections need a good cleaning

Dans 7080,
See what happens when you don't watch him. Don't ever let him get around wires. |

I have to push the clutch pedal on my 7040 tightly to the floor to get it to turn over.
