i have been looking for the serial # of my machine for 2 years, and i just accidentally looked on the front of the torque convertor housing next to the back of engine on the oil filter side and there were the following stamped markings....hd4 1105. this must be the serial #. has anyone else seen this on their dozers ? thanks randalleky

HD4 serial number is on the frame below and in front of the grill facing up. Maybe its in two locations?

front mainframe , top surface , by front grill, believe left side of that top surface ,
dang been a few years and memory fades of which side , know I did find it on mine on front.

Hi, there i have been looking for the machine weight of a 1974 HD4 Dozer, would you happen to have the answer or know where i could find that information? I see that you posted questions for one also so i thought i would try :)

weight of hd4 with blade and no winch or ripper would be about 7,000 to 7,500 lbs as near as i have been able to learn. randal

HD-4 brochure 6-69 states with 12" shoes it should weigh 8800 bare. The 653 brochure states the tractor/dozer combination is 11,250# which is the newer version of the same tractor with a 6 way blade. Sales book says 80" dozer for HD-4 is 1625#. Bare tractor list price for HD-4 was 8082.95 ref Sept.30, 1965
