i have been looking for the serial # of my machine for 2 years, and i just accidentally looked on the front of the torque convertor housing next to the back of engine on the oil filter side and there were the following stamped markings....hd4 1105. this must be the serial #. has anyone else seen this on their dozers ? thanks randalleky

HD4 serial number is on the frame below and in front of the grill facing up.  Maybe its in two locations?

HD-4 brochure 6-69 states with 12" shoes  it should weigh 8800 bare. The 653 brochure states the tractor/dozer combination is 11,250# which is the newer version of the same tractor with a  6 way blade. Sales book says 80" dozer for HD-4 is 1625#. Bare tractor list price  for HD-4 was 8082.95  ref Sept.30, 1965
