Getting ready to run some wheat with my N5 and I noticed while hooking up the header that the straw spreader and the sieve was rotating very slowly without the separator engaged, then I heard kind of a bang noise, separator will turn on with the switch fine, but did the same thing when I turned it on and off. Any ideas? Thanks!

Sooooo, you've been faithfully greasing the separator clutch bearing once a week right ???  Or do you even know what I'm talking about ??

Yes I certainly do know where it’s at, weekly? No I don’t run that many acres and don’t put that many hours on it. But it does indeed get greased, hell it only takes me a day to run the wheat I have. That’s why I run a junky old N5 to start with. So you thinking the bearing is failing?

Gotta ask !!! Many second and third owners have not a clue about that bearing. If the separator is creeping on its own, the only way is something wrong in that clutch area.
