Is there enough room to install wd 4-1/8 power crater pistons onto a gleaner z these are not wd45 power crater pistons I know sp46 need to be machined some to clear I was just wondering about the power craters

M & W piston kit SP-46 fits the 4 inch stroke WC/WD engines and have a Power Crater type bowl in them. If you install them in a WD45 or D-17 engine with the 4 1/2" stroke you need to machine .170" off the top so they don't smack the cylinder head. As far as what you're wanting to use, I have no idea what the compression distance/height is. Might work. Might not.

I have both sets MW 4-1/8
And the smooth bowl I thought them was called power crater that is also 4-1/8 set I was thinking about putting the smooth bowl into a gleaner z code I don’t know either pin height both are still in motors with wd cranks I was just wondering if the smooth bore needed any machine work to be installed like the sp46 piston needs it’s for a unstyled wc pulling tractor that has a stock z gleaner |

got ross duplicating some sp46 pistons (should be done any day now )for me as we speak thanks to steve fischer getting me a piston they are going in my d17 series 4 engine

no i decided to leave them the same pin to top hieght, and mill them at the machine shop
