My series 3 had the long tool box, only on the right side instead of the left. It will hold the official wheel tread wrenches it is that long.

My series 1 had one when I purchased it, bottom was pretty rusted out so I replaced it with a new one. Not sure if the long box came from the factory on a series 1 but it fit perfect. And yes, it holds a lot of tools.

All right, anyone ever put one of these on a WD or 45? Probably be kind of in the way I would guess. Bigger toolbox would be nice on these old girls.

If you located the rear edge of the box in the same place and extended the extra length forward, you'd be alright. I think the lift arm latch comes kinda close when the arms are fully up as it is.

I could check out the lift-arm/latch thing here in just a bit. I only have the one 21" box and it's rusted on the 17b pretty good. Maybe remove it and hold it up for comparison. If I wind up keeping this series 3, which is a pretty good possibility, it will need a new box.

Yesterday I checked this out. Raised the plow fully up, measured the three inches on each end, plenty of room. Now I just need to procure a new box or two!
