I am a new member, converting from the Dark Side (John Deere) so don't tell my brother.   Anyway, just happened by a neighbors yard recently and he had (I now own it) a very nice looking little roadgrader sitting amongst his John Deere and assorted International tractors...!   She hadn't been run in 3-4 years...    After a bit of piddling and wrenching, she started right up.  
 
I called Tony and he has been very helpful in information and advice.  Thank you Tony!
 
I'm seeking the teeth or a pattern of the teeth for the scarifier (I believe that's how it's spelled).   My nephew runs a metal shop, so if I could get the demensions, I believe that's all I would need.  
 
Can any of you help me out?
 
I currently live in Vilonia, AR (30 miles North of Little Rock) and also have farm land in South Dakota.   I'm thinking that is where she will end up, once the engine is overhauled etc....

You might want to try agrisupply.com, I found scarifier teeth for my DD special, so close to original as to be nearly identical.

D is the gas model and DD is the same machine but with the diesel engine. If you have the serial number I can tell you what year your grader is.

I don't have them handy, right now, suggest you go to Agrisupply.com, and look at what they have now, the DD took a tooth that has less of a curve, than your standard landscape box.  A coupla years intervening, might also have changed what they have in stock...

Hi...   I am going to be traveling cross-country from Arkansas to Washington DC next week.   Driving, so maybe I'll have an opportunity to stop along the way at some farm and home joints.    We also have TSC and Campbell Supply here in Arkansas and South Dakota....  so they may have something.  
 
Whilst sitting in the motel room at nite, my have a minute or two to look up AgriSupply....!  
 
I was hoping someone might have a tooth to copy...   Maybe I should have been more specific in the thread topic.

Thank you.....   I will have to check to see if that is close to Herndon, VA....   which is where I'm going to be all week.   
 
In addition to needing the teeth, I also need the control handle/lever.... which is the middle one on the spool.   Don't know if that makes sense.   Unfortunately when the removed the hoses from the digger hyd cylinders and plugged them, they also removed the control handle.   Also unfortunately, they left the rams extened which means they have rust pitting, so they may have to be replaced.  
 
Do you know the weight of this roadgrader??

This seems as if it is a D grader with most of the options so the weight may be closer to !0,000 lbs. I replaced a 2 spool valve with a 4 spool valve but I may have scrapped it along with the handles. I will check. I am a a long distance from you but sending a couple of handles may not cost that much. It should be a lot cheaper to re-chrome the rams than replace them.

Hi.    I am a little confused about which grader you actually have. You mention a 'Patrol' grader; but, I am assuming by the various conversations, that it is really a 'D' road grader. Do you have any pictures that you can post? I have a copy of a scarifier tooth that I had borrowed off a D grader in the Peterborough area. I made a wooden copy that I had hoped to get a pattern from. I hope to find some, or get them made locally. If you need measurements, I can get them when I get home from FL. about the middle of April.Please post some pictures.   Ross.

Isnt she a beautipful grader. If you can i am rebuilding a d motor( 62 yr) and i took the flywheel off without marking it and my book dozent tell me how to put it back. where do i find a complete shop man.

Good morning.    On my want list is to obtain the scarifier teeth and to install the original styled power steering. We have acquired the power steering assy. and are currently installing it. If you need the tooth assy. measurements, let me know and I will be able to send them to you.
   Here is a picture of the 'D Special' working. This is Calvin Schmidt building his new driveway. The Hi/Low tranny sure helps with a 66% reduction in the ground speed. Lots of control with the engine working at the proper RPM's.

I am going to attempt to load some pictures after I finish this note to all of you.   First, the patrol pictured here is "really cool" and well done!!!!!   Congratulations!!
 
I certainly didn't mean to mislead by probably using the wrong terminology.   I'm TDY traveling for work today so most of this is from memory.   My serial number is D4555 which Tony said is a 1957 model I believe.    It has been sitting for years with 422 hours on the hour meter (which I realize is probably a new meter).   Point is, it hasn't' had much recent use.   I'm a JD guy but this little AC was just calling me and the price was right.  Where I'm from (Carthage, South Dakota), we call road-graders Patrols....    
 
It has no breather filter assembly so I don't know how many hours of dirt sucking use it's had.   The motor runs but smokes a lot.   I'm going to get her home when I get back from DC and my son and I will pull the motor and then we'll take it up to MO for a complete overhaul.  
 
Plan is to completely restore to functional useable condition.   All my antique machines are workers also.   I don't have any "Hanger Queens"....  Please don't interpet that comment in the wrong way.   We each have our needs and to "each his own".
 
So.... I am going to upload pictures now.   More later...!

A very nice clean looking machine and it doesn't show any signs of abuse such as repairs to cracks in the pipe frame. It looks so good that the hour meter may be correct. Now I don't want argue with Tony as he is a good parts supplier for my D grader but my S/N list indicates that it is a 1955, not that there were any real changes between years. My parts book starts for s/n's 5425 and up so there must have been some changes then such as going from the G226 engine of the WD45 tractor to the G226 engine of the D17 farm tractor. Tony has great prices for engine kits. The missing air cleaner is odd. My grader originally had the air cleaner fastened to a bracket that was welded to the corner of the gas tank about where the strap is located on your picture. Apparently because of vibration a crack developed on the gas tank in the corner at the bracket. They sealed the tank with what appears to be brazing and then crudely welded a piece of angle iron onto the frame and mounted the air cleaner to it. When I got my grader the hose between the carburetor and the air cleaner was missing and the air cleaner cup was solid dirt. My engine needs a rebuild possibly because of this. It smokes a bit, fouls a couple of the plugs now and then, uses some oil and everyone that has to work downwind of it bitches about the smell of burning oil but it still has enough power to spin the wheels at a fast idle when working. Good luck with your grader keep us posted on your progress. BTW across the border into Saskatchewan they were often refered to as maintainers.

Thank you....   She is very clean!   I have not found a visib le crack yet....!   
 
That was one of the compelling reasons to purchase her.    She's just "one sweet machine"!!  
 
If you happen to run across a scarifier tooth....  I would love to get measurements or pictures....!   
 
We also call them "maintainers" in South Dakota.   I guess my military background leads me more to call them Patrols...   And I remember my Father always called them Patrols....   which was probably a result of his service in WWII.  
 
I can't really tell what year or serial number it is.   I am in DC today!
