Just got a 64 series 2 lpg it's my first tractor.
Can anyone help me out with were to get parts near okla. Maybe a value on it? It's all there runs great has power steering Snap coupler 3 point, spinout wheels I believe there 14.9-26? Has a dual hyd. Remote I was told its not original and it's missing the tachometer I replaced the water temp sensor and gauge and am having the generator rebuilt now. Any info is appreciated thanks. |

A lot of the vendors here can help with parts. You can also search for an AGCO dealer close to you. Mine is a couple of hours away, but they send me parts by courier promptly.
D15 is a great tractor. The only weak point is the transmission jumping out of gear (usually 3rd) if the user ground the gears a lot. |

I've noticed that in 3rd it pops out after you go prolly 100 yards. I wasn't sure if something was wrong or I just couldn't engage it all the way

Well, hope desertjoe pipes up. He did a fine job of making a D15 LP look better than new over the last couple years. I know he could share some knowledge with you that would be phenomenonal. Darrel

Text me the picture or email I will post later on.
314 954 2599 tractor_rich@hotmail.com Yes it is uncommon. I bought my series 1 for $2500.00 for it. Mine did not jump out of any gears, power steering and it had wider rear tires and fronts. |

Joe are you seeing this ? Maybe those propane D-15 Ser II are more common than you think . Just kiddin , messin with Desert Joe . Those are rare , have only seen a few at shows over the years and have only heard of a few on here . Snap Coupler may make it desirable as every propane Ser II D-15 I have seen had a factory 3 pt .
Question , was curious about the brake lock , is it a pie shaped brake holder or a ratchet style brake latch ? I could not make it out in the photos . Have seen both styles on the Ser II 15 and D-17 Ser IV |

You only need to know 3 things to be a plumber;Crap rolls down hill,Hot is on the left and Don't bite your fingernails

![]() Can anyone tell me why the engine an frame have yellow paint under the orange? Was it repainted? Or is that the primer or what? |

Yellow chromate primer. The original painters got pretty sick from that primer if I remember correctly.

Oh dang so is it like lead paint or something like that I'm obviously not gona go eating it haha but I guess I know now we're there any other colors on the old allis chalmers besides orange? I've seen older ford's industrial ones were yellow sometimes that's what got me to wondering about it

Yes some industrials were yellow. I think other colors could be ordered as well. I don't think it's too dangerous now, it had something to do with the fumes from it I believe. We actually still use it at work to paint propane tanks. Darn good stuff too.

production numbers for D15 LP's, according to Norm's book, says 51 were produced in 1961, and 31 in 1962, and data not available for 1963 through 1968. Now I would say that with all LP production in a downward trend during this era, I'd be hard pressed to say that LP production would have jumped drastically during any of the years following 1962. That being said, Some would say there is no proof that you have a rare one, but I would say that all signs point towards it being rare. Darrel

That's good to know on the paint.
And that's awesome what is this book your talking about? Is it available some were? And from what your saying it sounds rare to me but either way I think this old girl has a home every time I drive it I like it more an more it's definitely got me wanting more of them haha I'd like to restore it someday yet idk if I should I kinda like the look it has now also. |

The book I am getting the info out of was written by Norm Swinford. He was an employee of Allis Chalmers for years. He wrote a few books, one being this one that has everything you'd ever want to know about allis chalmers farm equipment. I am not even sure about availability of it any more. I've had mine for years. Someone else may be able to help out with that. Darrel
