My D15 has the early one piece solid front axle (wide front end).
The newer design has a two piece adjustable axle. The spindles are different - the obvious difference is the ID of inner wheel bearings. Newer spindle may be slightly longer vertically - 12" as opposed to 11 3/4" Can I use the newer spindles that are readily available and simply change the inner wheel bearing? There was one washer at the bottom of vertical shaft. My measurement of 11 3/4" was taken with washer removed. The key way is very badly worn on my spindle. |
