Hi
Came across a used armature put back in box lol. 231347. The splines are stripped where it drives power steering pump. Before I toss it wanted to check that there’s no use for it.
Thanks

If the armature is otherwise good, putting splines back on isn't impossible...  and if it's a common armature, the end can be turned to fit either a splined sleeve, or a standard belt sheave.  Is the armature used on any other application?  How easy is a good replacement to find?

First you need to find out what unit it fits. Could be a Delco long shaft for an 1100440/441 or 424 Diesel Gennie. If so, new Arms are available for those particular units. As Dave mentioned, those long shaft splines can be reground as long as the shaft isn't bent. I've seen where if the pumps seize, it could bend the mainshaft....  HTH
