Recently put a coil on the B10 when the mag went south. Also put in a new set of points. Now the exhaust will get red hot in a short time. Will this be caused by the points  not adjusted to the correct gap?  Any help appreciated.  Hud

Yes it will.

Did you install a new condenser with the points?
When was the last time you thanked a veteran.

Adjustment of point is off. I think it is 1800. Could be the key in fly wheel partial stripped.

I used a 12v. coil. I bypassed the mag and used the points to fire the coil.  I sort of eyeballed the points. Have not gotten back to it yet. May be spring before I mess with it again.  Thanks for the reply.  Hud
