is the farmall C a two bottom plow tractor? How many horsepower does it take per bottom on a moldboard plow, does anyone know. I know a chisel is like 10hp per bottom,now I realize it depends on how deep and type of soil but there should be a rule of thumb. Thanks

PTO (claimed): 23.67 hp [17.7 kW]

In 1948 the first Farmall Model C tractor rolled out of the factory and into the farmer's field. A follow-on to the Model B, it was slightly larger in size but kept the same 113 CID engine and 4-speed transmission. Other upgrades included adjustable rear tire spacing (with sliding hubs), a frame design similar to the larger Farmall Models H and M, and International Harvester's new "Touch Control" system which allowed the operator to lower and raise implements by touching one small lever. The tractor was very versatile and was used primarily on smaller farms or for small jobs on large farms.

The Farmall C was produced from 1948 to 1951, when it was replaced by the "Super C". Approximately 79,836 Farmall Model C tractors were manufactured. The weight of the tractor (without water or fuel) is approximately 2,780 pounds. In early 1950, a handful of these tractors were delivered to dealers with a white paint scheme as special demonstration models.

i think it was a one plow tractor but they

had a left and right plow for them

I bought one used, it came with a mounted plow. If I remember right it was a 2-14.
I the tractor was a nice one to use but it was a bear to work on.

I have a 52 Super C that I only use to plow snow with and have a 7 foot blade on the front and a 8 foot blade on the back. It amazes me what the tractor will do pushing and pulling with both full of snow. I have chains and 2 wheel weights on each side, I run out of power before I run out of traction. I also have a 52 Allis CA that amazes me what that tractor will do with a disk and field cultivator and will run out of traction long before I run out of power even at half throttle. I think both are rated at 20 HP. The Super C is my work tractor and the CA is my play tractor. I have 10 acres of mostly woods with a very long driveway so that qualifies my needing 2 tractors, at least that is what I tell my wife. So far I don`t get any rebuttal from her. The Super C has never failed to start in 21 years, the CA is hard starting initially, but starts fine after that. Sometimes I think I`d like to sell both and get a D17. Oh yes I also have a 7 HP Homesteader lawn tractor that the grandkids play with. I took the mower deck off and rigged the lift to the clutch so it now has a hand clutch.

Your C will pull two fourteens pretty nicely under most conditions. I have a Super C with a three point hitch that I built for it, and it is one of my favorite tractors, the live hydraulics are really nice, and the tractor is very comfortable to drive.
