If you’re asking does it make sense to buy it instead of the truck, it does make sense.

Looks like a pretty handy rig if you have some ditches to clean, trees to remove, etc. It's big enough to do many jobs efficiently. I'm thinking it will hold it's value better than a pickup too. Probably lots of neighbors would like to borrow it too.

Yeah, but it's 13 years older than the truck.

Mileage is gonna suck on the highway!😂
I’d much rather have it than a 1/2 ton pickup! |

It'll suck to be running it down the road to the store to bring home a bag full of groceries in the bucket... with cop cars with their sireeeens and blinkin flashin lights on.... but might be worth it if your burin an over paid contactor...

If you have any use at all get it. I kept my Excavator when i quit actual ditching & cleaning with it , it stays home now as a yard crane, and if a sheep dies we got that covered in this rocky ground .. Tony

I have zero need for it, as a friend can drop his machine here anytime(free fuel too !), I just found it incredible that for less money I could buy something far better built and will outlast a brandnew truck. Kinda wondering what the original price would be on it though ? Jay

I bought the BX23S last year( turned 65) as it proves more useful than just an excavtor... Jay

I have a NH backhoe attachment that I've fitted to quick-attach to the D17, and there's no doubt that it was worth every penny to acquire, fix up, and fit. BTW... Nobody messes with a guy who has a backhoe parked in 200 acres... Even moreso... 1 excavator, 200 hogs, and 200 acres. The mob, and all their concrete, don't hold a candle... BTW Jay- be careful now... many places in Canada require you to have a special permit just to look at a PICTURE of an excavator. I hear that Ottawa now requires expensive training and government license to look at bulldozers, too...
