Hey Guys!

If I remember correctly, I was browsing a little while back and came across a thread that someone was working a head over with Chevy parts and another member posted a picture for reference. Anyhow, I remember them saying that they always painted the Chevy parts blue and red.

Today, I happened upon this Youtube video where a young guy is disassembling a 226, when I notice safety wired nuts and bolts... weird I think, I don't recall this on mine? a few minutes go by and I see Red and Blue Rockers and Springs! 

Just thought this was neat!

Dick Lemmons is the chevy valve / Allis B motor guy.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

In the oil & gas world, wetted parts are not to be coated due to petroleum breaking down paint and contaminating the product. Not sure I’d want that in my motor unless it’s iodized?

Very true!  Paint flakes fall off and get flushed into the oil pan where they then proceed to clog up the oil pick up screen, starving the engine of oil.  You can figure out the rest...
