 Topic: Who made AC Square balers?

I have seen a 442 square baler on ebay, a bit pricey if parts are scarce, who made these for AC or did they make their own?

Pretty sure they made their own. They stopped making them in the mid 70s.

The first model to debut (the 200) was built in England. The rest of the balers, 302, 303, 442, 443, and 444 were all A-C made, and great balers too.

Were the knotters not the same or similar to the NH? I was told that my 303 had the same knotter as the Super77.

Knotters are quite similar as we just ordered New Holland rollers for the knotters in our 303.

I sorta though Ford built the bailers for AC. That was before Ford became New Holland and CNH. That maybe why NH knotters fit.

With the exception of the model 200, all other balers including the roto-baler were built in Laporte

I have a 442 and am well pleased with it. Have not experienced any problems with it -- doesn't mean I won't this year --- LOL.

Wow!! I looked it up on ebay wayyyyyyy overpriced just bought a 444 in the same condition or better (444 was the last model made 442 was the economey version) for $200 that guy is dreaming!!!

The 442 was built in England
The 200 was also built in England the 303,302,443, 444 were built in La Port Joe
