What was the first tractor you drove alone?

WD 45.  Working ground ahead of the drill.  I liked being in the same field as dad.  The dog always followed me round after round.  Dad would say to the dog "I feed you EVERY day but you never follow me in the field."

when I was 6 yrs old my grandpa told me to drive his R moline up from the field. I don't know if I was considered alone because I picked up my 2 sisters & gave them a ride. I remember my grandpa was really mad at me for giving them a ride. They were 7 & 8 but hadn't ever driven either.      My oldest son drove my 38 B when he was 4 , while I threw round bales on the rack. I remember he couldn't reach the clutch from the seat , so he'd drop down on the transmission when he pushed in on the clutch & when he let it out he'd pop back up on the seat. Boy would osha love to see that now.

grandpas wd45 i was about 9 or 10then i got my first tractor last year for my 13th birthday and then i got my 2nd a couple months after that.

Mine was a CA pulling a load of hay when i was 6. My son who is now 13 drove the 8050 fwd stalkchopping when he was 10.

AC WD Pulling an 8' IH disc working plowed ground first time over. With the narrow front it bounced and the steering wheel jerked where ever it wanted to go. I was maybe 6-7 at the time but as I recall it did the same thing when I was 16-17 when I had the strength to hang on to the steering wheel.

I recall when I was about 8 I was driving the VA case pulling a baler, with my dad stacking bales behind.   I could handle the clutch,and get it out of gear, if necessary.  Just following the windrows of hay:)

With or without my dad knowing? I still remember the day it was a WD45 diesel with a turbo and I was pulling wagons at harvest.

1954 WD45 I was 8 and I would pull the tractor and sprayer ahead while Dad walked along with the hand boom. I still have that WD45.

First drive was a WD up the lane road. First one I actually did work with was a Farmall 140 side dressing burley.

My first was a AC model "G". My grandfather used it to pull small carts and an orchard sprayer. I had driven riding mowers and such, but the G was the first "tractor", if you can call it that. Anywho, I drove it into the field and got it stuck right away- pretty good too! We had to wait until the ground froze the next day to get it out!
