Must not be original owners here. I did call an original owner I know he said his 1973 was $3250 with the mower. He still has it.

If you want a man to be a successful farmer, give him a Allis Chalmers tractor. If you want him to be a successful mechanic, give him a John Deere

Wow, 1982 price with tires and mower deck, $9160. That can't be. Were the tires really that expensive back then. Maybe I added it up wrong...
2015 the Simplicity Legacy is about $10,850 2wd with 61" deck or about $16048 with 4wd and diesel and 61" deck. I estimated that the fabricated deck is $2500. It may be more. Tractor weighs about the same as the 620/720. 2015 Kubota BX2370 with 60" drive over deck is $15980 list. The old 620/720 has 15 or 16 inch rear tires. The new toys are 12" ("lawnmower" size to me). How do ya plow with such small wheels... I think most cars have tripled in price since 1982. They have airbags and fuel injection now. I think my 1984 Mazda B2000 pickup was $7100. What kind of truck can $21,300 get now. What do you guys think about the cost then of that 720, vs. the cost now of the Kubota? |
