What moldboards do I need?

I am looking for AC boards that would work for standing the furrow on its edge, rather than flipping it right over.  Can you do this with 387's, or do you need another style of board?  Thanks!

   387 moldboards are the same as OLIVER in curvature  219

To stand the furrow on its edge you need a mini moldboard, like the Mini Moldbaords from Shoup, their MB22300 replaces a 387 from AC. www.shoupparts.com Or you can take a standard moldboard and torch it smaller. I doubt AC ever made a mini moldboard. For sure not in my 1976 plow bottoms book.

I was at a farm meeting the other day, and it was discussed that the furrows should be on edge, so as to allow water to drain down, and air to enter between the furrows to allow the soil biology to do its work and break down the residue.  Obviously you want it to lean a bit so that it doesn't flop back on you, but not go right over and smother the residue.

Then it will dry so much that your seed will not germinate. We always ran a disk over what we had plowed that day before we quit for the day, other wise the soil dried out too much.
