What might have been... improved AC 8000 series.

 

I have read about the AC 8095 prototype that was being tested prior to the buyout of AC by Duetz and was wondering if AC was getting ready to upgrade the entire 8000 series AC line, hense the "8095" designation of the prototype, unless of course had it reached production would it have been called " 8090" instead? 

 

I am going to speculate that AC was gearing up for an upgraded 8000 AC line up before the buy out with increased hp in the smaller 8000 AC's. 

 

This is my guess what the AC 8000 series line up might have looked like in late 85 or 86 whenever AC was planning on releasing the 8095 and had the merger not took place:

 

8015( replaces 8010)

8035( replaces 8030)

8055( replaces 8050)

8075( replaces 8070)

8095( new addition to the line at 200hp) 

 

AC likely would have upgraded the AC 6000 series as well I imagine:

 

6065 ( replaces 6060)

6075 ( replaces 6070)

6085 ( replaces 6080)

Maybe a 4th model in the line up an 6095 would have been added???  

 

Just my thoughts on what might have been.

I wonder if AC was still in control, would the Conventional Gleaners L3/M3/F3 remained in production past 86 or would they have been phased out all the same.

My mistake, your right there would not have been a 6075. Its interesting that  

a 6095 was in the planning stage which likely would have replaced the 6080 I imagine. 

I thought a saw a picture of a "White" Allis Chalmers "6040" in one of Norms book titled AC Farm Equipment 1914- 1985. Been awhile since I read it, but I swear it was white and had the styling like the AC 6060- 6080's, might even be a "6060" but I think it was "6040".
