Hi

I have read about the AC 8095 prototype that was being tested prior to the buyout of AC by Duetz and was wondering if AC was getting ready to upgrade the entire 8000 series AC line, hense the "8095" designation of the prototype, unless of course had it reached production would it have been called " 8090" instead?

I am going to speculate that AC was gearing up for an upgraded 8000 AC line up before the buy out with increased hp in the smaller 8000 AC's.

This is my guess what the AC 8000 series line up might have looked like in late 85 or 86 whenever AC was planning on releasing the 8095 and had the merger not took place:

8015( replaces 8010)
8035( replaces 8030)
8055( replaces 8050)
8075( replaces 8070)
8095( new addition to the line at 200hp)

AC likely would have upgraded the AC 6000 series as well I imagine:

6065 ( replaces 6060)
6075 ( replaces 6070)
6085 ( replaces 6080)
Maybe a 4th model in the line up an 6095 would have been added???

Just my thoughts on what might have been.
I wonder if AC was still in control, would the Conventional Gleaners L3/M3/F3 remained in production past 86 or would they have been phased out all the same.

Wasn't the 6060 discontinued when the 6070 arrived?  If so, then there would be no 6075.

The 6060 was discontinued when the 6070 was introduced. The 6060 had an 8spd trans, The 6070 had the 12spd like the 6080.

a 6095 was in the planning stages according to Swinfords bible, it was a 301 in a 6080 chassis, only available with mfwd. could be a neat tractor to replicate today.

My mistake, your right there would not have been a 6075. Its interesting that
a 6095 was in the planning stage which likely would have replaced the 6080 I imagine.
I thought a saw a picture of a "White" Allis Chalmers "6040" in one of Norms book titled AC Farm Equipment 1914- 1985. Been awhile since I read it, but I swear it was white and had the styling like the AC 6060- 6080's, might even be a "6060" but I think it was "6040".

wouldn't the 6065 be the one not included? Yes in the "bible", there is a mockup of a 6000 series tractor with white tin work. caption states the powertrains were to be west allis designed components, before they turned to fiat.

The 8095 was not to replace the 8070 but to be the first 200 PTO HP tractor on the market.  It was going to be an addition to not a replacement, or that is the way I understand it.

As it was the 8070 was already beating out the 4W-220.

Yeah, I had heard it was to be an addition to the AC line up, and your right AC would have made another first had they introduced the first 200hp row crop tractor on the market! Instead Deere ended up with that title.

[QUOTE=Matt MN]this topic tells a little more about it.

Thanks,

Thats definately an interesting read on the different prototypes AC had, including that AC 8095.

The 8095 prototype looks to be a big tractor with a frame the same lenght or little bigger then a Deere 4955?
I wonder if AC was going to move to 2 chassie frames for the 8000 series ( small frame for the 8010 -8050 tractors, and maybe the later 8070's and the new 8095 would have used the larger frame?

Anyone know what happened to the prototype Gleaners that were used in design and testing of the Transverse Rotary Gleaners prior to the intro of the "N" series? I assume they were all cut up.
